1. How long it will take for the employment visa to be ready. We intend to send all documents by first week of Sept. - This is an open-ended question. It all depends on the company's labour clearance. If they have it for your husband's position, then it should not take more than 1 working week. If they do not have the required labour clearance and are trying to apply and get one, how long it will take is uncertain. Sometimes weeks. Sometimes months. Sometimes years.

2. If the visa is issued, how long does one have to resume work. - The validity period for an Employment Visa is three months from the date of issue. The person in whose name the visa has been issued must enter the country within that period. Else the visa will expire.

3. Will I be required to relocate with my husband at the same time or I can come with the kids later at the end of the school yr. - You can come whenever you decide to - but not before your husband joins work, does the required medicals and paperwork, and gets his resident card. He can apply for a family joining visa only if he is a registered resident. That process would take about a week maximum. Also, family joining benefit is offered only to select categories and it is at the discretion of the company where your husband is going to be employed.

Thanks for your reply. He will find out from the company if the labour clearance is already available or not. We  do not want to relocate earlier than summer of 2014 so we are trying to delay submitting the documents, so that the visa will not be ready and we are not.
