Hi everyone,

I need a little information about the new working rules that are going to take place after November 4th.

I have been here since January 2013, My Iqama has been transferred from 1st kafeel to a company. My company claims they paid extra amount for my transfer as this was not possible otherwise since it was not transferable.

However, due to some reasons, i will not continue working with them after a month & this company has agreed to give me my release.

Now, I am concerned about my Job & iqama status after November 4th deadline. If i do not find myself a job in the grace period.  I am afraid, i will find it really hard to get a job as every employer is recruiting only those who have transferable iqamas.

I want to know what will be the status of those in near future, whose iqamas are not transferable ?  Do we have to wait for two years ?

The grace period is there for correcting status of illegals. If you've to leave a green company because of reasons not directly related to law, that's not covered or protected by the grace period and will have to wait for general 2yrs period.

Now that's very harsh rule. There are thousands of job seekers like me came to the kingdom this year in 2013. I am sure some will get their self transferred before 4th November. But what will the remaining candidates do, I mean already out of resources, how can wait for another year?

What is the best option, if couldn't transfer myself before grace period? Go back home ?

That's callous but that's how it is.

The grace period is for helping people who could get legal fast. But remember: their original plan is to cut back on expats. 3M have to go out of 9M.

That's a grim situation then. I was not sure about it, thanks for letting me know.
