Hello !

Which place in Brazil is cheaper to live?

Maria

You could try small towns in rural areas...

Perhaps you could be more specific about your desires: coastal? urban? rural? up and coming areas? historic areas?

You would be living there after all.

Happy to try and help, but not sure how to respond.

The Natal area is a sweet spot definitely on the up and coming list (already here, actually).  Lots of expensive real estate and fancy nightlife.

It is difficult to find coastal areas still really cheap, but the more rural you go the more affordable.  Most nice beach areas have been hit by building booms.

By foreign standards things still seem affordable to buy - but you should really Google brazilian real estate -- there are a gazillion sites keeping track of this info.  Buyer beware!

Living expenses like food and local busses are pretty cheap.  But regular consumer goods can be rediculously expensive.

The real rub is that earning a decent salary in Brazil is really tough.  So things look cheap from the outside, but if you have to earn your living here it can be a struggle.
