Hi all,

My name is Tim. I'm a 22 y/o American moving from VA this Thursday for work. I've been reading a lot about what to expect and it seems like it'll be a great time.

I play a lot of soccer (football), and would like to try to find a local sports club or league. Does anyone know of one? Also, I'm guessing there are quite a few local bars to watch the games...I'm a huge Chelsea fan and I would like to be able to go somewhere to watch the games.

Thanks!

Hi Tim,

I saw a post before relates to your question:

About good bars/pubs to watch sports, you can try Phatty's bar or bars near that area. They all have big screens and very good for watching sports.

Gimme a shout if you like to have some company! I might be old but not boring!

Ummmm Please define old? Twenty to forty something is not old by any stretch of the imagination. Hey even 70 isn't old any more. Granted the tires on this vehicle may have seen a lot of miles, but made from good quality stock and have plenty of tread left for a few more laps around the track. :joking::cheers::thanks:

Oh well, how do you know whether I'm somewhere in the middle of "Twenty to forty something" or more? Imagine what people can do with computer technology these days.....:lol::lol:

 Yeah and not just computer technology, but liposuction, cosmetic surgery, lotions, potions and the proverbial fountain of youth.

It all boils down to two things in my experience. Good in gets good out AND we are only as old as we think (a caveat being the physical limitations age places on what is possible).

As Buddha has said "we become what we think about" and more recently Henry Ford was once quoted as saying "If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you're right."

So it doesn't matter how old I think someone is, but how they view themselves.

If you are happy then I am happy

I have known women that dread their 30th and 40th B-day and they definitely are not old. On the flip side I've known folks in the 80's looking forward to their annual anniversary of their birth, but your point is well taken Anniest.

At a certain age, we think we don't look (as) good in our bday suit anymore...:unsure

..then we hate our bdays and then we get old... maybe...
