Can anybody tell me where can I buy german bread in Ryiadh city?

Trapezius

Umm... have you looked where bread is usually sold, in supermarkets?  It is found in all chain supermarkets, Danube, Panda, Carrefour, Manuel, etc.

Sure I did check all available supermarkets here in Ryiadh but even the " german bread" from Tamimi supermarket doesnt have a chance...:-(

Does Danube Supermarket exist in Riyadh?  If so, get your German bread there.  Another supermarket which has a good one is Manuel, but don't know if you have it in Riyadh or not.  Panda Supermarket also has it, but can't remember how good it is.

Aside from the supermarkets, your best bet is finding an upscale patisserie/bakery that makes it.  Check on riyadheats.com for bakeries and then investigate!

My FAVORITE 'German' bread (I am sure this is a bastardized form of 'grain') is from Euromarche!!!!  Give it a try--it's fresh baked there and I prefer the kind with the flakes of oatmeal on top.  You probably won't find it at night since it sells out; also, it's not available early AM.  Best to go mid afternoon.

ENJOY!

What do you mean by German bread...rye, pumpernickel or stollen? Or do you mean something completely different?

For now a dark rye bead with pumpkin seeds would do...))

I think I've seen rye bread at either Carrefour or Danube/Tamimi I can't remember. As for the pumpkin seeds with it good luck. You can buy them roasted and salted and then add them to the bread with some kind of spread but that might be the closest you'll get. :)

The rye bread was a dark brown, but it might have been a one off thing and they might not carry it anymore. That tends to happen here; you find something you like buy one or two of it. You go back to get more and they don't restock it for several months if ever.

OK, I will post pictures of the ones I see regularly at Danube, Panda, and Manuel.  They are not one-off items; they are always there.

In the bakery section, baked in-store, you should find loaves that look like this, and some are darker:

Then, in the health/organic/diet food aisle and/or the bakery section, you should see several varieties of these, even the same brand (and other brands), especially at Danube:

That works. I knew I had seen some but wasn't sure if it was a one time thing one of the stores had had sto cked or regular item. That's why I said it might be a one off thing. :) in Saudi with import stuff you never know. I didn't know they made fresh baked stuff. I don't go in the bakery section very often.

I believe I mentioned that the German Bread at Euromarche is fresh baked.
