Am I being unrealistic?

Terrier66

Hi folks,
I'm considering moving to Gozo for a year or two. I'd fund the venture entirely by renting out my home in Britain, for which I can get a around 450 euros net, per month. I've seen some small, basic, but otherwise ok looking (photos on estate agent website) single bedroom flats in Gozo for around 170 euros a month. I'm quite happy to live frugally, though not in dire poverty, so would it, in your experience, be reasonable to expect to get by with 120 euros a month for food (I understand there is now a Lidl on Gozo), 45 euros for gas & electric, 40 euros for tv / internet, leaving 75 euros for the odd beer and bus fares etc.
Your responses would be very much appreciated, many thanks

I hope you find the answers to your question !

georgeingozo

there is no Lidl in Gozo.

what about health insurance ?

Terrier66

There is a Lidl due to open in 2010 (see their web site) and why do I need health insurance as an EU partner?

Lidl - where on their website ? There isn't one yet, and I'm not aware of any planning application - be great if its true

Healthcare - you didn't mention you are an EU citizen :-) - in that case, you may qualify for cover under the state system, but not necessarily
