Go to Google maps, call up a map of Malta then select Satellite view.
That way anyone who has not visited or known Malta previously will see the built up areas and how close one parish is to another. Many parishes are merged into one area and also the bus routes etc. Zoom in and out of the satellite view and more details emerge. Switch between satellite and map view. It's useful for when considering schools, amenities etc. It may also help to gain a sense of size of the islands and the areas.

Use Bing Maps Aerial for better quality pictures, unfortunately the pics are older than the one on Google Satellite and there are much less information in the maps.

I like to use http://www.openstreetmap.org although it doesnt have Satellite views but normally it is quite detailed about amenities.
