Now we are really stretching things. Get off the sugar NOW. Before you know it you will be convinced she loves you.
The last woman I was really interested in was 43 years young, she kept pushing her daughter as someone I should be interested in. The daughter was 23. The mother wa delusional hoping for new money in the family. My current girl is 35, she is a great companion, has no expectation of a visa to the USA. But I also know she will tire of me soon, which is a good thing. Ours is more of a financial arrangement and once she has enough money it is back to the Mekong she will go. If she does not kill me with sugar first.

Ancient,
I was only teasing. I thought you were off taking your nap. You can tell it is a slow news day in HCMC and raining cats-n-dogs, this sugar thing has been the thread of the day. And just like you, you start these threads then take off for your nap. The the police come and investigate all of us because you refuse to turn on your spellchecker. The pedantic members cause a scene and get pugnacious with us all. Now the police want a urine sample from me to see what it was we were on yesterday that pissed so many people off that they had to close the thread. Now go eat and bowl of Sugar Pops cereal.

How far south are you talking about? My family is down past Tra Vinh. They seem to use lots of msg, and sugar.
Up to Can Tho/Ca Mau/ Kien Giang! I bet they use sugar more than msg in Tra Vinh
True that they use more sugar than msg, but msg will go into most if not all their daily dishes too.. I like cooking so I watch a lot when I'm there, it was shocking to see the amount of msg and sugar used.

No worries, I spent the day buying a used attila, picking up shoes I ordered last month in Hoi An and putting together 2 dressers and a cabinet to address some space issues now that all my belongings are here. Not to mention searching for that missing spell checker button and avoiding excess sugar.

Just out of curiosity , how much did they slug for the Attila?, I've heard of some bikes, ( in really good nick ), going for not much less than new here.
PS my wife has a spare spellchecker button, if your interested, but its a VN one, maybe THD con convert it for you.

I think the issue on the vanishing middle class is that median real income in the US has declined (very slightly) over the last 23 years while the income of the top 10% (especially the famous top 1%) has risen. So the middle class has, in effect, become a lower middle class when viewed on a relative basis.

The Attila is a 2011 model after bargaining ended up costing 10.5 million. Needs new tires and brakes checked (not really but I would feel better). I accept the spell checker...lol

That sounds ok, I think they are around 36mil new, tyres are cheap, I thought I was buying an Attila for the wife a couple of months ago, ( after being dragged around EVERY bike shop in QN, I didn't realise how many of them there was ), then when I thought she was going to pick it up, she comes home on this Yamaha Nozza thing, but better for her , smaller wheels, better for her little legs. ( Even better for me, she wouldn't let me pay for it ).
Now you and your GF might be able to come out to the wife's at Tinh Ky, for lunch/dinner one day/night?

SYM is made by the Taiwanese so it fetches less than the more "quality" Japanese scooter models.
Here's the new prices for the SYM Atila Family:
Power EFI is around 50 million VND
Elizabeth EFI around 33 million VND
Victoria (model looks like alot of the older versions) around 25 million VND
Passing around 23 million VND

Select Màu và giá (color and price) on the left menu to pick a color to display a price.

Did you pay the foreigner premium? I saw a couple of SYM Atilla's selling for $325 - $385 (7 to 8 million VND) on Craigslist in HCMC.
CHEAP LARGE 150cc scooter - VND385 (SAIGON)
CHEAP SYM ATTILA SCOOTERs - VND325 (SAIGON)

That's I couldn't understand, The Elizabeth, EFI , is almost the same price as the Honda Lead EFI, which would you prefer?
THD, I thought AP bought it in QN, , ( hence the price ), butmight have been Da Nang?
That Aus bloke I told you about with the dreadlocks, got sucked in real bad in HCMC, a 5 -6 yr old Honda 100, ( not Jap ), for 12 mil???????, ( could have almost bought a new 1 ), he had to buy a battery and alt here, must ask him what he did with it when he got to Hanoi.

I did not notice how harmful it is when putting a lot of sugar/msg into daily dishes when I was a kid. Anyhow, I love food and cooking but do not want my dishes are added by a lot of sugar/msg (except for sugar into sweet cake) but that's how people cook Vietnamese food enjoy Vietnamese food then!

I don't care one bit if I get corrected. I talk and spell country so I think I'm exempted from the criticism of the teachers here? Besides, I use MSG, so it's best not to mess with me.

I paid 10.5 million, she wanted 12 million for a 2011 model year. I bought it in Da Nang. Wanted to have a scooter at my place here for the weekends. My work rents one for me in Quang Ngai. I return there on Monday for 2 months for a new group of new English teachers.
Still working on the sugar. Had my neighbor explain it to her. Now she is sad for hurting my health, just can't win.

The nice thing about the South (Nam Ky) is that you can get two kinds of sugar beyond corn sugar. The cane variety and toddy palm sugar, which is usually sold in small honey-coloured cakes.
Hue is actually Central (Trung Ky). ANd speaking of salt, the Mam Tom Hue there is to die for. I spent a whole week eating it at every meal.
Madame Lirelou cooks with Pepsi or 'Xaxi' (Root Beer) occasionally, when she is whipping up a pot of pork and boiled eggs.
If we want to avoid sugar entirely, I gues we'd have to cut out all beers, wines and alcoholic drinks.

My browser automatically spell checks for me by underlining in red any words that they deemed incorrect like 'spellcheck.'
Disclaimer: I'm not an English teacher so be gentle on me. I'm full of run-on sentences and grammatical errors and I follow the British English.

I'd like to get a British English Spellcheck, I get sick of the one I use telling how me to spell the American way. Spellcheck should also be one word, or wouldn't it be spelling checking? ( button ).

MSG is one of the most abundant amino acids and the claims of it causing health problems has been widely disputed. Even in double blind studies with people who claimed to be highly reactant to it showed no ill effects when fed even twice the normal amounts found in food.

VTD,
Perhaps so. Myself I don't desire to ingest anything that alters my body to do other than it was designed to do. I really see no purpose in adding MSG, so I try and avoid it. The operative word here is TRY. Every time I go out to eat I know they are lacing me up with MSG. But your point is well taken, and I don't know of the scientific research. So I am unable to speak to that. I'm sure Mr Google, when he gets up can provide the documented research on that. Are you back home now?
VTD,
Well I called Mr. Google and he was in bed. So I did a quick look myself. Seems there is a great deal of disagreement with your hypothesis. So I will continue to TRY and limit my consumption of MSG. But like everything else we eat science says it is bad, especially when we eat say two truck loads of ,say, prunes a day.
Off topic, but I'm curious, my GF says that my VNese coffee is what is causing my problem with the rear main seal. I'm beginning to think there is indeed a connection. Within an hour of drinking it I am on the pot. Does anyone lee have such a problem, or should I get out a hammer and screwdriver and replace the rear main seal?
Bluenz,
You were just given a pardon by the police yesterday and your back on the pedantic rants again?
Will you ever learn?

Are you talking about ca phe sua da?
CTH,
Sorry I am language challenged, and rather new to VN. Is that the condensed milk? If so, yes, I drink it with that.
Yea, I was talking about the condensed milk. I too get that.
Its good for constipation tho. LOL

No, not ranting, ( this time ), I was serious about the ' Queen's English ' spellcheck, can't find one on Google, ( by the way, I'm out on a good behaviour bond , so I'm double previewing my posts, and trying to ignore MY spellchecker button, but there must be something wrong with it , it corrects all by itself, might need that spare one myself, sorry AP ).

Have you read the list of ingredients that makes up that cheaper coffee, coffee is actually the least thing it in, I was really surprised, but could then understand WHY it is so cheap. But still NO 1, better than than Nescafe instant crap they sell HERE , that comes from Thailand.
I must admit that it has hit me in the guts a few times after drinking it as well.
Bluenz,
Good to see your out of bed. All teasing aside, and in spite of the police, I do find that the pedantic souls amongst us has cause me to do some editorial work on what I write
a first for me. And spellcheck does have it's limitations as well. It really can't tell if you mean"goodwill" or "good will" for example. But it is nice your out amongst the free and the not so brave now. Caused quite a stir on local T.V. here in the big city.I guess someone with VERY thin skin ran home and told mommy and the police were summoned. So be a good boy, and have a great day.
