Hello
I also hold Indian passport. Indians can avail Visa on Arrival in Thailand. When u reach Bangkok airport, there is a Visa on arrival counter, You can fill the visa form. But visa on arrival is  strictly for tourism purpose only. So as long as u go there for tourism, no problem. The visa fee is around 1000 THB (check website). Please carry 2no. 4cm x 6cm photograph for the visa form, or else u will have to pay heavily to get the photo there. I just went in Sept. and this is what I did.

There is a travel alert for Indians in Thailand, due to the recent unrest, check before u leave.
Bye the way, I am now in India and planning to come to work to KL in a month's time.
Bye

ShnPJ is quite correct(see above). However check out this info on Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs web site SINCE VOA is only available at certain ports of entry in Thailand.

Also read other info about funds and return ticket.
