Hallo all,

i hope you are enjoying the wonderful weather in the uae though i find it a little hot for november. I am half saudi half american and married to an Emaraten, and would like very much to escape the arab culture and get to meet new international cultures and friends. I'm in abu dhabi since april and i have noticed that the locals dont mix with the foreigners especially westerns and that drives me crazy since I'm use to have international friends,,,,, so i decided to take the initiative to do so by joining here.

Wow, half Saudi, Half American and married to an Emirati, that is a lot of different culture and traditions. I'm English and married to a Lebanese. Been living here for 5 years. It is noticeable sometimes that locals don't mix with expats, I am a teacher in a private school and teach mostly Emirati children. I do believe that sometimes people have stereotypical views towards other cultures thus assuming they wouldn't be interested in mixing and socialising, but that's not case.
