Hi....to all....

I have finished my 2 years contract now with my present employer and before it ends i have given them 2 months notice of not renewing my contract. However, they are not giving me the release letters which i need for the new company which i'm joining. As a result, i'm still in floating situation, my original visa is not with my present employer, i was also transferred with them.....my concern is that i want to know my legal rights and can i make a complain to ministry of labor for not giving me a release. your reply is highly appreciated.

Ethically and morally they must give you the release. But legally you don't have any good rights. It's on them if they want to give you release or the final exit.

Giving release to transferred employees was an advice from the governor house back in 2009 but it has never been part of the labor law.
