Living in Yi Zhuang (BDA)

Hi,

I just accepted a job in Beijing and my firm is giving me a free apartment in Yi Zhuang.

Can anyone who knows that area give me some information. Are there things to do? Bars/restaurants?

If it is not a fun area, I might reject the free apartment and live somewhere else.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

is this the place? 亦庄?
wow thats like south of 5th ring road, and pretty far from the city center...never been that far south yet, but i doubt its westerner heavy area.
westerner bars/restaurants heavy areas are by the NE corner of the city between 2nd & 3rd ring road.

As zen74 mentioned,Yi Zhuang is very far from the city center.If possible I think you can choose to leave in city center.I'm a native,many of my friends who work in Yi Zhuang choose to leave in city center.But there are something not convenient is that you need take lots of time in bus everydat.
