Tell me about a stressful situation you faced being an expat in Saudi Arabia or wherever you be. Take us through it and how you responded

Fred

Stress is for other people; I chill out.

stumpy

Getting shot at and having running gun battles with Taliban in Afghanistan.

Whenever and wherever i am in stressful situation.....I say to myself...it will also passed away like other good time or bad time....I have realized it really works..

If it is a stress, why someone becomes an expat?? :)

stumpy

Just becoming an expat and going away is not always stressful. Many many expats have a great time wherever they are overseas.
It depends on what sort of job you have and where you are working.
In my case I have worked off and on for many years in conflict countries. I get well paid for it and stress is part of the job.

even if you're not an expat, life can be stressful. I've found that the things I DO have to stress about as an expat are balanced out by other things I don't have to worry about now that I'm no longer living in my homeland.

Maybe you have become accustomed to the place, but keep your comfort at home

If I were in Saudi Arabia I'd be stressed out.  I'm sure that's nowhere near the nearest MTR stop.

Full Monty

Many expats don't always remember that in other countries things happen a little differently to back home.

Stress is a part of everyone's life no one can say he/she never felt any stress so no matter if you are living abroad or at home, still you face stress and like wise a good way to counter the stress is be calm and cool and it is the only way where you can counter stress wisely, So we just need to focus on the root cause of that stress and then we can find the solutions otherwise a panic person can not perform anything well.

Entering in Jeddah is a pain too.Usually there is only 1 person checking passports in our category and the line is at least 20 people deep. It would be less stressful if I didn't have a 1 year old and 4 year old with me who have usually been on planes for 6+ hours by that point. Some stress goes away when a friendly person in line takes mercy on my husband and I and lets us go ahead of them.

I recommend you post this on the local forum for the country where you want to live. These timelines are different in each country.

As an expat, the immigration counter when you first step into Saudi Arabia is the start of "STRESS" there. Every next step takes you closer & closer to blood pressure medicines :P
