Singleton travelling to Mauritius in June 2014 and in need of friends!

Post new topic

Sunshine Lee

Hi

I am a 33 year old British born Mauritian and i will be traveling to Mauritius for 4 weeks in June and would really like some advice on the best hotels or ex pat groups to meet other socialising people from around the world.

Whilst, I have travelled to Mauritius before most of my time in the past was taken up with driving from one side of the island to the other to visit family or to take family there.....and i do not class this as a holiday!

I have narrowed my first two weeks to a hotel, (But which one?) i have decided on one week in Grand Baie and the other in or near Flic en Flac/Belle Mar.

Any advice or resident contacts will be greatly appreciated as i plan to return every year and would really like to make some long lasting friendships.

Lastly, free Creole, English and French lessons available to all....as I am a freshly qualified teacher and may stay to work.

Many Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you all!

It all depends on what your budget :)

There are some really great hotels in Flic En Flac like La Pirogue, The Hilton and Sugar beach.

Sunshine Lee

Hey

ive just replied to your other post.

La Pirogue is a fav of mine just because my uncle is the ass mangr.....so concerned that might not be a holiday! lol However i have personal reason which  i need to go back to that hotel, plus i have Mauritian nationality so i can get cheaper rates.  \most importantly i need to find hotels that will allow me to make friends if even for that short period of two weeks,  alas i would love to make friends with long term expat residents.

But i love flic en flac more so than grand baie which is just for the nightlife really as the beach is full of pollution and not like the east an south at all.

Anyways look forward to speaking and meeting up soon.

Many thanks and all the best

Natasha

I would advice to look for hotels deals over marideals.mu , they have quite interesting option available from half board to full board.. and these are exclusive for Mauritians and Resident in Mauritius.

All the best
