Investigating Computer accessories prices in KSA

Post new topic

Over the past 5 years i've been the one responsible for all my company's equipment, my relatives and my family's  needs, and i don't recommend them to buy from here anymore, it's cheaper anywhere else on the planet: from headsets to CPUs to  non-legit RAMs , to crazy priced Graphic cards , to mices  and laptops, everything appears to be at 30% extra.
This is ok for small prices but when it comes to graphic cards that cost 400 USD the price here jumps to 1900 - 2300 SAR am talking about NVIDIA GTX 770.
Despite the prices going down    tomshardware.com/news/nvidia-gtx-780-price-drop,24886.html  here they're still way above the regular price.
I am a regular at one shop, i asked him why are these prices High, he said "most of these shops get their supplies from UAE, they add their margin and we add our margin"  ,  I've been to dubai , the prices are high because the government Tax the electronics 10% for every 1000 Dirham = 1000 SAR .
Add to that , KSA also charge  from 0 - 50%  in general  and free for some  (It doesn't specify if accessories included ) dutycalculator.com/country-guides/Import-duty-taxes-when-importing-into-Saudi-Arabia/ .

My computer costs 7000 SAR here and i payed around 4000 SAR for it including a slim 23' monitor.
------------------------------------
I wish i was a price inspector cause i really hate to see people getting scammed  this includes customers ,shop owner , and local suppliers

which store do you recommend for purchasing Nikon camera and iPhone 5s?

@ kom340!

Jarir Bookstore is the best in my opinion though there are many other options as well.

Thanks for reply, however, Jarir prices are .. let's say "not the best"!
