Hi everyone. I'm Dylan, I'm from Trinidad (island in the Caribbean). Finishing up my first degree right now and will be working at a University in Bordeaux as of September. Can anyone please explain to me how, travelling, accommodation, groceries, insurance etc. goes in France, especially in Bordeaux. Thanks!

Hi Dylan. I went to the University of Bordeaux III last year, which one exactly will you be attending? If its either of the ones in Pessac or Talence then definitely invest in the yearly transport pass- it's only about 120 for students and is unlimited plus it works on both the trams and the buses!! probably the best thing about BDX
I found groceries (and wine of course) were very reasonably priced, compared to Ireland anyways. As for accommodation, I would avoid CROUS student accommodation as it sounds horrendous. You can find really affordable places right in the city center  on websites like appartager.com or leboincoi.fr
Let me know if there's anything else you want to ask!
