Moving to Malta for a season!

I am finally at a point in my life where I am able to do a bit of travelling as I no longer have the work commitments and flat commitments that I have had previously! I have friends of friends who have gone to Malta for a season and become addicted going back all the time and I would really love to experience the culture for myself. I am looking for move to Malta for 3 months in May to work and live until August when I would be travelling home. I have some good contacts for temporary work but seem to be finding it difficult to find accommodation for the full duration of my stay (most likely because of the late planning!!) and would greatly appreciate any advice on finding shared accommodation for this time in and around Valletta.
