Salary estimate possible ?

Hey guys

Time for my first question after the initial introductions the other day  :)

I have been reading the job sections, but couldn't find anything that could help me figure out how much I might be "worth" in the Maltese job market - and whether I could realistically thinking even expect to find my line of work there at all.

My previous job titles throughout the past 15 years have been; project assistant, training coordinator, accounts specialist, spare parts coordinator, export assistant, inside sales coordinator -- I was employed by a large global company in engineering/automation industry (marine segment mostly). I suppose I would be looking for some kind of senior administrative position or something to do with training support, sales support, logistics officer etc.

Any ideas what I might be able to ask for as a minimum salary per annum ? Obviously it depends on the position too....but just to get a general idea ? I'm 46 so I guess in some businesses age might start to be an issue -- although I sincerely hope that's not the norm  :o

Thanks in advance for any input you might have, all opinions appreciated.

HI zariana,

from the job titles it is a bit difficult to judge your job chances in Malta. It probably boils down to an administrative job with good English language skills ( and Finnish) but no Maltese language skills and experience.

My guess would be a possible salary between 15.000 and 20.000 €/year but , as you suggest, it might be difficult to find anything in your line.

Cheers
Ricky

Cheers Ricky !
Yeah, I guess it will be a bit hard to figure out the exact amount, but the bracket you mentioned is pretty much what I had in mind so at least I'm not too much off with my expectations......will just have to see if anything suitable comes up, either in my own industry or maybe something new.
Thanks again.

Hi
Well I suggest you find this type of jobs before you came to Malta!!!  Trust me willlll be very difficult. .in here if you don't have connections the good jobs ar reserved for Maltese..
Unless you came directly with contract from your country
And yes you  need English skills very good if not Maltese
They have online  many  personal scouter ho post in internet all kind of jobs from different firms..
Salary they  ar small comparative to Europe
Range from 700.er for student working in Paceville for 4er/h  to 2000 or more in same office firm or casino or airport or ..betting office  or  ..or)))
Maybe same people will disagree  with me  but  trust will be hurt finding a good job especially regarding you're skills
And one more think if any way you want visit Malta and planning not to stay in hotel then better you go now if you want find on nice not very expensive apartment!! Juni is veryyyy difficult to find a nice one  unless you afford to stay in Sliema in tawor building's by the sea))
but off course zone is depending where you will work !! If you stay out off Sliema  and Paceville praise  will be much lower  and if you have a car then it not matters
Good luck to you

Sorry but this is total rubbish... most of the Higher paid jobs in the Igaming industry and IT are to foreigners.. yes i agree with the apply before hand as a lot will also give Skype interviews although they will want you here for a full interview before being offered the position...
