Living in a Hotel

Post new topic

There is a job opening that will be coming up in the future that will be an excellent career move for me but I may be stuck living in a hotel for awhile while waiting for a compound to open up for my company.  It won't be so bad being in the hotel and living off the companies money but I am afraid my wife will not enjoy it there.  When inside of hotel areas (such as the pool) are the rules for women of covering up and all of the religious police stuff enforced?  Is it only inside of a compound that she could wear shorts or a bikini?  I don't think I could take the job if that is the case because it will probably end in me getting a divorce :)

Any help is appreciated.

Pools in hotels in Saudi Arabia are strictly for men. Religious police is the last thing, hotel administration will not allow it in the first place as it's horribly against local culture.

There are separate gyms & pools for ladies (only) but you'll have to buy membership.

I figured that would be the case.  I live in Kuwait now and it is a little strict with the dress and socializing rules in public and at public beaches but at the hotels the women can wear bikinis and talk to whoever they want.  I guess I will be passing on this job opportunity unless they can get us in a compound somehow.
