Health & Prescriptions

Hi,

New member, thinking of relocating to Cyprus from Spain (the bureacracy has finally got to us!).

Most important question - we do not yet receive a state pension (we are both in our early 60´s).  Would we get state healthcare free in Cyprus, as we currently do in Valencia?  Also, how much do prescriptions from the doctor cost?  My husband is insulin dependant diabetic, and we currently pay 10% of his prescription costs.  Without this, our monthly drugs bill would be around €150!

Many thanks

we are brits and 56/57 - dont work and not in receipt of state pensions  - we have had to get private healthcare cover.. (its also a requirement for the ARC too) nothng free here .... altho over the counter drugs seem to be reasonably priced. It may be an idea to speak to the Uk depts concerned to see what can be offered to you
