Cell phone service in Paris

I'll be moving to Paris in a few weeks. I'm looking for advice on which carrier to use for my phone service. Which, in your opinion, is the best to use? I currently have tmobile in the US but it is pretty terrible here. Is it as bad in Paris? How long can I expect the process to take if I am bring my own iPhone (unlocked)?

Use Free or SFR Red. Both will take about a week to receive your SIM once you sign up on line. Both are excellent. very inexpensive and include free calls back to US both fixed line and mobile.

"Free" is my prefered cell phone service.

We will probably be traveling out of the country often. Do yo know if it works well outside of Paris?
