Obtaining the Less Common Fruit in Quito

Where do I get the less common fruits like Star Fruit (AKA Carambola) around Centro Historico in Quito? It wasn't at Centro Mercado when I checked.

Hi,

Starfruit is very common in Ecuador, but here is known as "grosella china".

Thanks for the name tip! I did not see it in any of the vendor's baskets yesterday, at the (afaik) most popular place to find fruit in Centro Historico. Do you know specifically where I could go to get grosella china.

I live near Sangolquí in Valle de los Chillos, I saw this fruit in Sangolquí´s mercado. Maybe you can ask directly to the person you usually buy fruits for sure she (he) will know where you can find it in Quito itself.
