Vietnamese Nuclear Industry

Does anyone have any contacts in the Vietnamese nuclear industry? I am working with an American company who has a lot of experience in the nuclear industry and who is interested in helping Vietnam set up its nuclear power plants.

No, but I've found an old Phosphorous mortar tip in my garden, ( from M80 ).

Nuclear power in Vietnam is "a sensitive problem". Government control and operate it. For me, I only know about one nuclear project in Vietnam is The Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Plan.

Here is another page with a more detailed map where they're planning on building NPP's
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_energy_in_Vietnam

What puzzles me most is the fact that for example Ninh Thuan 2 is only a few miles south of a place called Vinh Hy which has been promoted as a new holiday resort beach area. The same is the case a bit further north at a beach/location called Binh Tien which is one of the most beautiful beaches I've seen in VN. There they're been planning and constructing a huge resort (Interncontinental) http://www.watg.com/index.cfm/page/inte … en-resort/ but somehow that has been stuck for a few years now...

The best is, some people I spoke to in Phan Rang said, it will be great for the Phan Rang area, once tourism is up and the NPP's have been constructed, tourists can enjoy the beautiful nature and also go to see many modern Nuclear Reactors!

Locals have no idea what the future may hold for them, just think, 2 NPP's (Nhinh Thuan 1&2) are both confirmed and within a radius of maybe 30-40 miles of Phan Rang and if you look at the map, you'll see that with Binh Tien, they'll have 3 NPP's within less than 50 miles of Phan Rang!

A man who had been in a mental home for some years finally seemed to have improved to the point where it was thought he might be released.

The head of the institution, in a fit of commendable caution, decided, however, to interview him first.

"Tell me," said he, "if we release you, as we are considering doing, what do you intend to do with your life?'

The inmate said, "It would be wonderful to get back to real life and if I do, I will certainly refrain from making my former mistake. I was a nuclear physicist, you know, and it was the stress of my work in weapons research that helped put me here. If I am released, I shall confine myself to work in pure theory, where I trust the situation will be less difficult and stressful."

"Marvelous," said the head of the institution.

"Or else," ruminated the inmate. "I might teach. There is something to be said for spending one's life in bringing up a new generation of scientists."

"Absolutely," said the head.

"Then again, I might write. There is considerable need for books on science for the general public. Or I might even write a novel based on my experiences in this fine institution."

"An interesting possibility," said the head.

"And finally, if none of these things appeals to me, I can always continue to be a teakettle."

I have read all of the articles. Specifically, I am looking for a name and phone number or email for someone in one of the following institutions who I can talk to about bring international nuclear operating experience and helping Vietnam set up their nuclear industry.
-Ministry of Science and Technology
-Vietnamese Atomic Energy Institute
-Nuclear Education and Training Center
-Institute for Nuclear Science and Technology
-Vietnamese Electric Company

I will eventually find the right contacts, but if anyone knows anyone that I can get a hold of, it will speed up the process.
