Hello everybody,

While discussing other life related topics with forum members, I noticed that a lot of female members (and more importantly male members, since they are the decision makers in the family) are not sure on this subject.

A lot of the members say that their women either cover or show their face since that is the tradition in their family or the culture of the city they originally come from.

Comments are welcomed from members who have done some study or research in this area:

Well offcourse women should cover face else men will think she is promiscuous ...
She should be loyal to the husband as he may have other wives also to manage...
She should definitely not venture outside alone as other men are awaiting to punish such indolent behavior...
And offcourse as stated men are the decision maker in families she should keep quiet too ...

Hello !

Of course these are the aspects of covering the face: practical issues, social issues, security issues and religious issues.

France (to my knowledge) is the only country in the world where covering the face (Veil ) has been pronounced illegal and I heard a few stories the women lost their jobs too for putting on a veil.

I believe the French legislators are of the opinion that the muslim women is being oppressed or "forced" by their men and they fail to believe or understand that any woman will "choose" to veil.

Thanks for the updade.

Belgium was the second country banning veil in April 2011, and the reason both France and Belgium gave were not basic rights of women they were wearing "Prominent Religious Symbols".

Can we revert back to the main Subject please! should a muslima cover her face in Islam?

Should a woman cover her head with veil in Islam?
well answer to that should come from a female muslim .What are her choices and opinions ,
according what defines the veil in islam is to be modest and also abayaa for such matters. Let me ask you a question ,
Riaz (riazcdki) since this is a muslim country and all women are forced to wear veil and abaya .Do you think it is totally justified to compare France and Belgium .If muslim women are not given any choice over there ,then even non-muslims over here don't have much.

So please clear the air on the topic whether its on the basis of country or on whole religion level.
