Can you reccomend a good Dentist in Thailand, likely Bangkok please?

Hi All,

Can anyone reccomend a dentist in Thailand, ideally Bangkok, please?

I am travelling through Thailand for a few weeks on my way to Australia for a year (working holiday visa there). I am a US citizen currently living in Seattle and I have recently learned I need 5 cavities filled. I have already paid for 3 to be done here, but they are very expensive and I can't afford to pay for the other 2 without cutting into my travel budget!

I was hoping to find a really good dentist in Thailand to do the remaining 2. I have digital copies of my x-rays to help with any communication barriers. The work I need is on standard fillings on teeth that have had previous work from 14 years ago, but the cavities have creeped back along the edges...

I don't know how to find a reputable dentist in Bangkok however, and I am very nervous.

PLEASE help?

Thank you!

Cheers, Erin

I feel what you feeling. I have a long history with dentists. I have had 3 fillings redone, one crown re-put in and 2 root canals done in Hong Kong. The price was sililar t what i paid in Miami, Florida. fillings redone were about 90 US dollars, Root canal was 900 US dollars. JW

Erin,
Once you get here go to private hospital such as bumroongrad, smidthivej, Bangkok hospital and ask for the dental section. They are all pretty good, and also quite expensive. But the cost is probably less than in USA. Language will not be a problem there. Dentist working in those places usually can understand and speak English. Or at least can communicate with you.
Don't worry too much.

Can you please give a rough idea about the overall cost of treatment?

Hello findadentist and welcome to Expat.com!

This post is dated 2010 and is quite old! :)

I invite you to start a new thread on the Bangkok forum with your questions. :)

Thank you,

I stumbled upon this thread as I'm looking for an endocrinologist in Bangkok. Got to be Thantakit Dental Center for me. I have used Thantakit for 4 times already and I'm always happy with them. Great experience overall..

Another vote for Thantakit International Dental Center. The place is very popular in dental tourism. Work has always been consistently flawless. Their building and facilities are impressive too.
