Hello everyone,

So, I was given a job offer in Abu Dhabi and I am now in the process of obtaining my work visa. I currently live/work in Paris and had graduated from an American college. The HR have asked me to legalize my degrees. At first I thought they just needed a notarized copy, which I already had. However, they actually wanted it notarized by the UAE embassy. I went to the UAE Embassy in Paris, but they told me they only notarized French degrees, and that I would have to have the U.S. Embassy notarize my degrees first. I called the embassy and told me that they do not notarize degrees!!! What a dilemma... Any tips would be much appreciated!

Cheers,

PS: I was also told that I can no longer sponsor my mother. What's up with that? Is that true?

what about a HAYA postille, I think is the international validation.., is not valid in UAE?, thats the validation I did for another expat assigment before..

first you have to go your country's embassy. they will do a attestation & put some stamps on the back side of your certificate.  After that you can come to UAE & when u get a job here in UAE your employer will do the attestation process here in UAE. This is required to get a specific employment VISA

Thanks for the kind replies guys...

Manper, I am not familiar with that, but I think the UAE wants the degrees certified by one of its embassies.

Prashant, unfortunately, the U.S. embassy in Paris  does not certify diplomas... I am really not sure what to do. The HR told me that they are looking into it.
