Hi there,

I just saw your message. You would like to obtain a NIC number. But for that you have to be a Mauritian citizen. Quite similar to the NI number in UK.

Iv got a residency card. To register on the new job website iv found I need one. There's some jobs that interest me. I know it will be in port lewis, just wanted to know which building and what floor or office so I know where I'll be going.

You amy be a resident but not a citizen and thus won't be eligible for a NIC card if:

1. you are married to a citizen and haven't live on the island for 4 yrs

With a spouse permit, you should be able to work on the island
