I got a job offer with family status.

The company is telling me that once I arrive in Oman and join the job than the company will apply for the family visa for me.

Does it work like this and how long it takes to get the family Visa?

Sumitran

Family joining process simplified :

(1) Arrive in Oman on employment visa
(2) Join duty. Get Resident Card.
(3) Make sure your monthly salary is R.O. 600/- and above
(4) Spend 6-months working continuously (some exceptions are there)
(5) Speak with your company's HR / PRO to get the papers ready for applying for family joining visa
(6) Provide 6-months bank statement to validate your proof of minimum required salary / income
(7) Once all the paperwork is done (photographs / marriage certificate / birth certificate attestations / bank statement etc), submit the same at the Directorate General of Civil Status office in Seeb - for this you must go along with your company PRO only - not by yourself
(8) If all paperwork is properly in place then your family family joining visa will be issued within a few days maximum

Good luck.

Hi,

Now the company is saying that I can bring my family with me on visit visa (I believe on arrival) because we are Canadian citizens and than the company can get the visa changed to resident visa.

Please clarify if this is allowable in Oman.
