Moving to Cologne and considering schools and places to live.

We will be moving to the Cologne area this summer and are seeking information about schools and suitable areas to live.  My husband will be working in Kerpen and my initial school search puts Bonn International School at the top of the list.  We are seeking an area that would be commutable to both.  On the map, Bruhl looks to be in between.  Does anyone know if this area would be suitable for an American expat family….or possibly another option.  Thanks for any relevant feed back or helpful advice in general.

Thanks for replying!  I had chosen Bruhl only because it seemed a mid-point between school and my husband's employment in Kerpen.  After speaking with another expat, I now realize that living in or near Bonn will be just fine!  We had a previous assignment in Brazil and my husband and children commuted up to two hours one way!   I'm relieved to know that won't be the case in Germany.

Great to hear you have made a decision. I think you made a great choice.
30-45 minute commutes to work seem to be quite common in Germany.
Thankfully the Autobahns make the distances a lot smaller!
