So, what have people had good luck growing here? I'm not much of a gardener, but got collard greens, kailan, and basil going. Amaranth died off before I got the drip hose on it, but the lone survivor now taking off. Squash, most the tomatoes, herbs died off between the harsh rain and lack of water (?). My father-in-law's local veggies, fruits, and spices do well, of course. Local tomatoes now 5-foot UNDERNEATH the house overhang (in almost full shade with drip hose).

Hi,

I am curious.. how long did it take your kailan to grow?

I can't remember exactly, but in general things sprout quickly (compared to stuff planted in Spring in Illinois).
