Hi All,
Just got back from a great 2 weeks in KL. Have signed the contract and will be back to start work at the start of Dec.

Does anyone have any experience of the Australian school? We were thinking of sending my daughter there.

We also had a look around places to live and liked Gita Bayu but i will be working in Midvalley, so just how bad is the KTM komuter line in the morning/evening rush hour? I've been warned its busy and we found out for ourselves that the trains are a bit random but any idea how long the journey would take?

Thanks for your help,
Jo

Hello Jo,

It's good idea to go to midvalley by KTM komuter. They usually increase the number of trains during peak hours. It will be full but i believe it's still ok for those people who used to commute by train.

Have you see houses near seputeh or probably bangsar? They may not be as green as gita bayu but you can take train from KL Sentral to go to midvalley.

Hi,

You cannot depend so much on KTM.
- they are always not on time (sometimes 30 minutes delay)
- very packed

I used to work in MId Valley too. I take LRT from my place at Seri Maya and stop at Bangsar station. From Bangsar station, you can take a freeder bus to Mid Valley.

If you need more information, you can contact me

More info please!:)
I'm not at all familiar with the area so i'm not aware of the other stations or train lines that i'd be able to get to other than Serdang. I had noticed the KTM was bad when we visiting last, so any information will be gratefully received!

HiJoamelie,

Since you are working in Mid Valley, it is advisable for you to take Putra LRT to work.

I understand there is a KTM station in Mid Valley (walking distance) but KTM always late and full of people.

Actually you need to find a place to stay which is near to Putra LRT station. Then you can take Putra LRT to Bangsar LRT station and take Freeder Bus to Mid Valley.

Putra LRT is faster and on time. But during peak hours, it is also full of people. At least, you wont be late to work.

I don't suppose you could tell me where the Putra LRT stations are, so i know which areas we should be looking in?
My daughter will be going to the Australian school near the Mines, that's why we were thinking KTM.
Thanks,
Jo

Putra LRT station is available at Ampang, PJ and Setapak area.

Since your daughter is studying in Serdang, Mines. Then you have to use KTM.

But KTM station and Australian School is quite a far. Walking is difficult.

Have you ever think of driving? It will be more convenient.
