City Hall Wedding In Oslo

TMilimo

Basically, we want to get married this summer but because to work constraints I cannot stay in Norway long enough to have a wedding ceremony and a reception and I definitely don't have the time to plan a wedding in 5 months.

So it is possible to just show up somewhere and have someone officiate the marriage and then we leave?

Thanks

PS. I'm Kenyan, he's Norwegian.

Getting a civil wedding in Norway is really quick just know the location of skatteetaten in your area and a wedding official

Step 1: Test certificate/marriage license
Skatteetaten- Requirements

after a week you'll receive your test cert/marriage license which you will bring to your wedding official and they will just ask you to select a date.

You can check this site for the wedding official i dont know if they call it a courthouse/tinghuset but here is whete we got married

On the day of the wedding just bring 2 witness which is 1 for each of you. Also bring your passports. And in less than 15 minutes you're married. Ring is optional too so if you dont want to rush in choosing it's ok not to have it at the ceremony.
Wedding Official

If all your papers are complete you would be married in less than a month. :)
