Can north African drive with their International DL on Visit Visa?

Clan you Please advise wether or not north African can drive in Bahrain with their international driving license while on visit visa? A friend of mine is wondering if this woild ne feasible ?

Think any nationality can drive with an International DL & valid license from country of residence.

If hiring a car and having a tourist visa it should not be a problem at all. Best to check with hire car companies there for the information.
