Hi, I have been in Bangkok since the start of the year and my family join me in two weeks we will be living in a serviced apartment for the first few months but have looked at some places to live and are totally lost on where would be a good area to settle.
Our son is 4 will be going to Patana in the new term so I want to be able to drop him off on the way to work (on outskirts of city towards south) but we want to be an area where my wife will hopefully make friends and settle into not having horses and working easier. Hence been looking in Ekamai, Thonglor and around soi's 20-24, 31,39. We would like an apartment block with other younger families so our son an have friends to play with etc., plus it would be great if there were other liked minded people there who enjoy socialising and mixing.
Quite a long list which is why we are struggling but any views would be most welcome, especially recommendations on apartment blocks - thanks in advance.

hi,

check thonglor apartment, i have lived there for 2 years. ask for the bigger apartment, 3 room one. rent would be about 20k THB. its an old apartment building little far from BTS. but a place with swimming pool, gym,  restaurants, MAX Valu is just in the adjacent building. other wise i guess near suklhumwit 34 some good family accommodations might also be available in about 15-20k .
