Hi all,

I came to Mauritius last year and stay here with my work permit. I quitted my job and married to mauritian. Based on my permit I need to leave  the country in a couple of weeks . I haven't get the chance to complete the documents required to apply for the Resident Permit. Will I need to leave the country by then if I don't have my resident permit?

I have asked similar questions in one of the threads but it seemed to be deleted or maybe I missed it.

Thank you very much

Hi,
Where did you married, means in Mauritius or in another country.
If you married in Mauritius you can stay. How ever better inquire with civil status office in port Louis.
Lanka.

You need to take your marriage certificate and passport to the Immigration Service (spouse section). Inform them of your exact situation, Normally you don't have to leave, but unless they have a copy of your marriage certificate, they won't know that you're married to a Mauritian
