Kidnet Dialysis

Has anyone ever had Kidney dialysis done at a private hospital in Costa Rica or in the CAJA ?? -- and if so how much did it cost.???

I wouldn't rely on CAJA for this issue, as they are constantly saying that they do not have the enough equipment needed. Many agricultural worker have over the years developed kidney disease and require dialysis. A friend of ours in Nosara had to travel to San José to a private facility, until he passed away 2 years ago.
You must be a legal Resident to be covered by CAJA and this can take a year or more, and most of the private insurance companies will not cover pre-existing conditions.
Contact the hospitals direct:
CIMA
Clinic Biblica
Hospital La Católica
There are other smaller hospitals around the country that can provide this, but you will have to search for the area you are interested in.

Thanks so much cupacoffee !! Yes I have lived here nearly 40 years and understand the CAJA situation. Just wondered if anyone had prices for CIMA as they seem to be the only dialysis center. I have emailed them. Thanks again.

Good luck!!
