Ok, the question that everyone's always wondered about but never asked. I bought some beautiful ground round for a burger b-b-q at the local Libyan grocery store. It said "meet" in english on the label and looks like the real deal. Didn't cook up with the same juicyness however as the good stuff from 'back home'. Now the big question...is it beef or ...the other red meat (Camel)???

Usually the ground meat is beef, but it could be camel.  You will find that the beef is drier here as there is less blood in the meat because of different slaughtering methods.  Some do not have much fat ground in with it as well.  Maybe one of the locals can help with the pronunciation of beef and camel in Arabic.  :)

If it was camel, you would know. Juiciness is the least of your worries - camel is very 'gamey'.
