hello my friends kiwi,
I am contemplating to travel to NZ in a close future, possibly to settle there for awhile, and in view of that I have an essential question to make to the forum: as a senior citizen,62 yo,single, in good health, with talents and experience, will I have a chance to integrate myself suitably in the NZ life,in a productive and usefull way?
Thanks for your collaboration.

Hi Georgy, welcome to Expat.com :)
I suggest you to read the Guide of expatriate life in New Zealand which might provide you some information already.
Else I hope you soon get useful responses from fellow members there.
Cheers

Hi Georgy

Tauranga in Bay of Plenty has a high percentage of people over 50yrs of age.  Many people come here to retire by the beach, so there is a broad mix of people already living here.

I am not sure what you hope to do with your talents and experience, as it can be very difficult to get a work permit here.

But please do as much research as you can before coming here.  NZ can be a very expensive experience.

Hi Georgy

Traveling to NZ is great, but as Colinsmum says, it is difficult to find a work permit or a visa.
If you like to retire here I hope that you are rich! Immigration will want to see your money before they let you stay.

otherwise you can enroll to a school (Expensive too!)

But visit first, and then you will see if you really like it! You can get a 3 months tourist visa, renewable to 6 months. You will need a return ticket to be allowed in.

I don't mean to be pessimistic, but yes, do your homework well before!

ciao
