Safety in Senegal

Post new topic

Christine

Hi,

We would like to talk about a sensitive but important topic: do you feel safe in Senegal?

How would you define the level of safety in the country?

Can you walk safely during the day and at night without any fear?

Do you think there is a high rate of criminality, social problems or tensions?

Share with us your insight on safety in Senegal and in the city you live in.

Thank you in advance,

Christine

Even though in terms of social stability senegal has done extremely well since independence, safety has always been an issue not only for foreigners but also for locals.
To be honest, it's kind of like you feel safer outside than in your own home having seen crazy stuff happening in broad day light and nobody says anything. We do not have to cloud the truth, let's just say it the way it is.
Number one thing; do not display any valuable on the street to avoid being a crime target or victim.
Use the same situational awareness and commonsense.
