Considering job in Saudi - practicalities for single women

Hi

I am considering working in Saudi, as part of the job offer I would get accommodation in a compound. I just have a few questions about logistics for women.

I really enjoy the outdoors, would I have to wear an abaya if I went hiking in the mountains/ went to the beach? I also enjoy snorkelling, would I be allowed on organised boat trips as a single woman? As I understand it, I wouldn't need to wear the abaya at the compound, is this true?

How does it work if friends came to visit? I have some friends (male) living in the UAE, would they be allowed to stay at my place when they visited? Would we be allowed to go out in public together?

You have to wear abaya outside compound. it s clear, you are not allowed to stay with any male except your brother, father, husband and son. so if you cant stay how can you outside with any other male except mentioned above. you are allowed to go by taxi alone. but there is no hiking here, boating is there but its risky for you to go alone

yes you have to wear an abayah period. There are outing trips organized and you would be able to go with a group. The compounds all differ, so depending on its kind you may have to wear an abaya even on the compound. no men wouldnt be able to stay with you
