Hi All,

This is Prasad from India. I am Mechanical Engineer by profession, having 12 years experience as MEP engineer (HVAC, Firefighting, Plumbing). I am looking for a good job with decent salary in Germany. I had approached M/s Continental immigration for the same and they informed that they will process my immigration application and their fee for the same is approx 90K indian rupees. First they will apply for job seeker visa which is valid for six months, then they will assist me in getting job by arranging interviews.

I would like to know the chances of getting job in MEP field in germany. After getting Job seeker visa can i travel to germany and get any odd job and search for job in my field? Can I travel with my family ie., do the companies give family status? What are the chances of getting the Job in Germany with family status?

Any one in Germany now has got the visa and job through Continental Immigration? (Just asking to know how their services will be and their reliability)

Please reply me to enable me to take the decision.

Thanks in Advance

Prasad

I can only recommend you to read up on these topics on this forum or elsewhere on the Internet - and forget about this agent if they cannot even explain these things to you properly. You can also easily apply for a job seeker visa yourself (no need to pay anybody for it) and even applying for jobs is better without agent (it shows any employer that you are resourceful and active, rather than depending on others). Only if you have money to spare and a tolerance for failure should you engage an agent!

Hi Prasad,

I have recently moved to germany and had applied for job seeker visa on my own ... Based on my experience, u can apply for job seeker visa on your own. Just go through the job seeker visa requirement posted on german consulate website and prepare documents accordingly. For insurance, please check for list of insurance accepted from insurance companies by the german consulate before buying any insurance.

About your job, based on my experience i can say that you will have to apply on jobs posted on company's website as there are many jobs which are not posted on job sites but are posted on company's websites. I got a job by aplying for a position on a company's website and this pistion was not posted on other job sites .. strange but in my case, its true .
Below are some job sites i know and were applicable for me as i have an IT background.

IF U WANT A JOB IN GERMANY, U MUST SPEAK GERMAN LANGUAGE .... OTHERWISE U NEED LUCK TO GET AN ENGLISH SPEAKING JOB IN GERMANY .... THIS, MY FRIEND, FOR YOU IS MY 1 BILLION DOLLAR FREE ADVISE

there are very few companies who post english speaking jobs which u will have to search as i dont have information about the job you would be interested in ... also,i would suggest that u save some consultancy fees as ur consultant said that they will help you in finding a job in germany and not giving you a job in germany. BIG difference here pls

Hope this helps.

Ask the German embassy what the want to see from you.

You can book a temporary place, e.g hotel or serviced apartment, and show your bank statement. But again ask the embassy to be sure!

Thanx for the answer . what should be the minimum amount of money in the bank
( do I need to open a blocked A/c)?

Read my reply above - and please don't post the same question multiple times. Thanks!

Hi Nasir, Carry all your original marksheets and other original documents you must have prepared for applying for job seeker visa ... interview questions will be mostly related to why u want to move to germany, what are ur future plans, what research u have done to get a job in germany, what if u dont get a job in germany in 6 months, then what will be ur next steps and some personal questions ...

rest all questions can best be answered by german embassy as they keep changing their fees. minimum account reqd to be blocked in german bank account is posted on website. u will find these requirements along with all other job seeker visa document requirement. Search for ur german consulate website (like mumbai, chennai etc.)

Hope this helps
