In order to sponsor you for a work visa, your friend's company must obtain a sponsorship licence from the UK Home Office. See https://www.gov.uk/uk-visa-sponsorship-employers
He must further prove that he could not find any suitable candidate in the whole of the European Union to fill his vacancy. This is unlikely.
