hi,

hopefully heading out there soon, was hoping to take out a pushbike for sanity, and I was wondering which one would be best suited to the type of terrain.

Road bike, hybrid, or a cyclocross

Cheers in advance

You are seriously considering this in Saudi?

We have our Fat Bikes here for trips in the desert. We are not professionals, just cycle to reset after a heavy week. Locals don't cycle much but saw a Road Cycling group here in Khobar. Think they are mostly Philliopinos? Traffic here are scary therefore we don't risk it on the roads...,

Hi Ali,

Yes, the causeway should be a good excuse to stretch the legs, and there is a cycling club in Jubail and 2 in Riyadh

weather is good, so would be a shame to be stuck indoors!
:D

Thanks,

I saw there were a few cycle shops there too
Most pics I saw of the jubail and riyadh clubs are road bikes but mountain/ cyclocross would be different.
I looked at gps sites and it looks pretty flat terrain, so a sturdy bike would be good with panniers and may jump the queues to bahrain ??

There is very good Trek cycle shop in Khobar we use for servicing our bikes. Also one in Bahrain. Not so sure if you can cycle through Customs to Bahrain?

Do you know the address of the shop please?
