The biggest reason that most tourist visa'a are declined you must know is because the interviewer does not believe you want to return to your home country, so the most important thing u must know before applying is that you have to have good solid documents to prove you will return to your home country such as work, school and family. the more you have the better . it cost 160 USD for the fee and you will have to wait to be called for an interview. also you will need either a bank account of at least 5,000 USD in it or a sponsor to take care of your needs while in USA.

Additional documents may be requested to establish if you are qualified. For example, additional requested documents may include evidence of:.
The purpose of your trip;
Your intent to depart the United States after your trip; and/or
Your ability to pay all costs of the trip.

Evidence of your employment and/or your family ties may be sufficient to show the purpose of your trip and your intent to return to your home country. If you cannot cover all the costs for your trip, you may show evidence that another person will cover some or all costs for your trip..

Go to US Embassy website in your country. The application in most countries can be completed online. The requirements are also indicated.
Most of those who are denied visas are the single professionals who the embassy thinks will not-return to their country. One strong document to support your intention to return  is that you have a good job in your own country, you have assets to show that you intend to return and that as a tourist you have to show proof of ypur financial capability to support your expenses as a tourist here. You need a bank book that would show your financial assests.

Hey,
You should visit the US Embassy's website that is available in many native tongues.
There, you will find if your cityzenship is eligible to the Visa Waiver Program. If not, you'll apply for the tourist visa form B2.
Now you also have to understand that you will need to prove that you can afford your stay in the US. And basically, if you cannot, well you may want to ask yourself what you're gonna do there that long if you cannot afford it?

Now, if you cannot answer correctly  that question yourself , do not expect the officer to do so.....

Also, there are no right or wrong answer. if you know why you want to visit the States then whatever question he'll ask, you'll give the right answer! Do not worry. Officers are human being and most of the time they are not there to keep peolple away from the States but to make sure that people enter with the correct visa or for the good reason...

In addition,  your home country may require you to deposit money or otherwise prove you are returning.  This is especially true for young females to protect them from the international sex trade.
