Hi everyone!

I have just recently moved to Ho Chi Minh City to teach English. I will be here for a little while and want to make my room feel more like home - does anyone know where I could purchase tapestries, canvas paintings, large world maps, etc? I live in Tan Binh district but am willing to travel. I know there are a few stores that sell paintings in district 1 but they were a little pricey. Any information would help!

Hi Melissa,

May be I can help you out in finding canvas paintings since I have been working in the art field in Vietnam as well.
Like you I just arrived in HCMC from Hanoi where we have been living for two years. In that period after one year research I have organized an exhibition in the Netherlands, Amsterdam. This exhibition comprised 35 art of emerging contemporary artists. It was a big success I am happy to inform you. Therefore I have cooperated with galleries and direct with artists as well. The prices here in general in galleries are very high. So therefore it is much more interesting price wise to have direct contact with the artist. If you are interested, please let me know.
