I can see how a journo would be very interested in first hand stories from a disaster, but I'm going with a prayer for the people, the hope of the smallest numbers of deaths and injuries, and the speedy recovery of those hurt in this event.

Assuming the press tells the truth - I've found there are far too many financial and political interests for them to do that most of the time.

They're either controlled by political masters, or controlled by their need to raise advertising revenue - the truth is low priority.
