Hi
Does anyone know wha is the cost of omakotitalo heating in finland. Since dustrict heating is very costly. I was wondering how finns heat their homes in winter. Any cheap options other than district heating???

There are no cheap options. Electricity is most common, especially if you don't live close to the district heating grid.

You can heat with oil. You can heat with electricity. You can heat with electricity plus air-source heat pump. You can heat with electricity plus geothermal heating. You can heat with wood or pellets.

Does your house come with a heating system or are you only now building the house?

District heating is simplest. Just remember not to leave any windows open. If you need to air the rooms, close all radiators, open all windows briefly, shut all windows, then turn the radiators back on.

And remember that there must always be at least +10C indoors in the winter, even if you are not at home. If you leave the house unheated, it will start to rot.

You're welcome!
