Hi Brijesh, I moved to Uganda (Kampala) in January 2010 and so far its been pretty safe. I live in Bugolobi which is one of the nicer areas on the outskirts of Kampala (others are Muyenga Hill, Kololo, Naguru...not sure of the other hills and localities).

However, come next year there's going to be elections and we only hope and pray that it'll be held democratically and peacefully. I've already gone through one major election back home in Kenya in 2007 which although was peaceful in Nairobi, the rest of the country was burning...But I hope Ugandan's can hold theirs peacefully. I'd suggest you wait till after March 2011 to move here.

If you are moving to Kampala from India. I suggest you get in touch with the big Indian community - Association of Indians in Uganda - here. Some thing like that, I'm not sure if they have a wesite, but I'm sure you will find them, even before you get here... Any success would make you feel at home!
