New to Hong Kong

Hi Everyone,

I just recently moved to Hong Kong from the UK and I'm finding it very difficult to get settled. I've met a lot of people but no one that I have really connected with as a friend, its making me feel very lonely. A lot of the people that I have met so far are students, where as I work fulltime so our lives are very different. I'm trying to connect with as many people as possible but it's still very hard for me to be away from my boyfriend, friends and family.

I like my own company so I've been doing a lot of things alone, and in big organised groups. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how else I could meet young working people like myself to get in touch with?

Thanks :)

Hi ABR13,

Welcome to the forum. I would suggest that you post in Hong Kong forum so that HK members have a good visibility of your post. Following is the link,

https://www.expat.com/en/destination/asia/hong-kong/

Also, try to use Networking section so that you can meet people from your/different nationalities.

Hopefully this will be helpful.

Great, thank you for the suggestions!

No problem,

Also feel free to go through other threads and participate in them. Please make sure that you share your experiences so that others can benefit them as well. This will also help you get insight of other expats/locals and help settling in a different society.

Good luck
