I do but its not my strong area.

I want to go international in my business; i have commissioned someone a local to do a website but it was not finished; it is in url

I can't see URL Cynthia.

I am not really a computer  savvy but once a website is design for me I will need a domain; am I right about that?

Thank you so much for your answers; how much do you think it will cost me to have an up and running website; hopefully I am using right words; have you encountered those so called Wix Team! I always received them from my e-mail to use them in enhancing my website;

As always it depends but hosting you can get for 50-80 USD per year.
Domains range from 10 USD to 40 USD per year.
Regarding website costs and design it depends a lot of type of website etc..
Does it have some background functionality or is it more like a blog?

Wix is a free website system.  Not a very professional approach, in some peoples opinions, but i've seen some Philippine Local Government websites using it.

You can get reasonable domain hosting from about $3 or $4 per month.

That will include web building tools like WordPress.org, which some people find easy to use.  My own 19 yr daughter surprised me the other day when she set up a quick site with it.

You could also use wordpress.com to play around with it and see how you get on.  This one does not need a domain or hosting, as you use theirs

Actually that's pretty cheap.  I just paid $19 to renew one of mine, and I pay for hosting too !!

You can pay them $13 py if you already have your own domain name that you want to use.

It also depends on load on site and if she is going to put ads and such on site because they will want a share of that. There is no free hosting or no free lunches.

Only option is a share of their own advertising on that one. They don't allow other advertising links.

Not a good option for anyone wanting to earn from advertising, but a great free option to test it all out on. And many use it for personal sites.
But it is free hosting if that is all that a person wants.

Some large organisations use it too.

It surprised me too, so i checked the source code and sure enough its hosted on www.wp.com

But they may pay extra for their massive resources
